05Audio, DSP & control

Complex underneath. Clear on the surface.

Good audio should suit the space. Good controls should make sense to the person using them. KENTEQ brings the technical design and everyday operation together.

The right help, at the right stage

The right sound. A sensible way to control it.

From conferencing audio and voice reinforcement to background music and multi-zone systems, the design needs to consider coverage, intelligibility, source routing and operation. Control requirements then turn that design into a usable interface.

When to involve KENTEQ

When audio is inconsistent, the controls are confusing, a space has multiple operating modes or a programmer needs a clear scope to implement.

01

Audio design & system review

Review loudspeaker coverage, microphone use, amplification, source routing and the practical needs of the space.

02

DSP configuration & optimisation

Configure agreed audio processing, routing, gain structure and operating limits, with commissioning checks appropriate to the system.

03

Control scope & interface planning

Define display, camera, volume and source controls, page structure, room modes and the behaviour expected from the interface.

04

Integration & operational checks

Coordinate control interfaces, DSP and third-party equipment, and verify the result against representative user scenarios.

A useful outcome

A system that feels coherent.

Deliverables are agreed against your brief, site conditions and the level of involvement you need.

01

Audio & control requirements

Agreed system behaviour, signal routing and the functions users need to access.

02

Configuration & design records

The agreed settings, backups or programming scope for the platforms included in the work.

03

Operational verification

Practical checks of source selection, volume control, room modes and audio performance.

Before we start

A few practical
questions.

Every engagement starts with a clear scope. These are some of the things we can settle together.

Which platforms can you work with?

Daniel’s experience includes Q-SYS, Kramer Control, Yamaha audio, Shure conferencing products and Dante systems. Platform suitability and the exact scope are confirmed for each project.

Can you brief our existing control programmer?

Yes. A written control scope can define pages, functions, device interfaces, operating modes and acceptance checks so that the programmer has a clear brief.

Can another engineer support the system afterwards?

Maintainability is part of the brief. We can agree configuration handover, interface information, labelling and documentation so that future support has a useful starting point.

A project. A problem. A starting point.

Let’s make it work.

Bring the brief, the challenge or the system you already have. We’ll work out the next sensible step.
